Sharon Ann Colchin, FNP

Sharon brings a deep passion for patient care and education to her role as a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in sleep medicine. With a healthcare career spanning over 30 years, she has extensive experience in home health, hospice, primary and urgent care, occupational health, and sleep medicine. Her journey in medicine began as a registered nurse, where she spent two decades caring for patients in home health and hospice. Driven by a desire to help people make proactive health choices, she pursued advanced training and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2011. For the past four years, she has focused on sleep medicine, helping patients understand the critical role sleep plays in overall health and treating conditions such as sleep apnea and insomnia. A firm believer in patient education, Sharon strives to empower individuals to make informed decisions that promote long-term wellness. She enjoys building connections with her patients and guiding them toward healthier lifestyles. Originally from a family that traveled frequently, she developed an appreciation for different cultures and a strong ability to connect with people from all walks of life. She moved to Montana in 1982 and has called Stevensville home since 1986, valuing the sense of community and belonging the Bitterroot Valley provides. Outside of work, she is an avid equestrian who enjoys dressage and trail riding. She also loves skiing—both downhill and cross-country—as well as whitewater rafting and camping with her family. She and her husband are celebrating 30 years of marriage and cherish the opportunity to watch their children and grandchildren grow up in the beautiful Montana landscape they love. Sharon is proud to be part of Bitterroot Health, where she continues to provide compassionate care and help patients achieve better health through improved sleep.
